Your data, privacy & deleting your account

Who can see your figures, how to take everything with you, and what happens when you ask us to delete it.

Your records belong to you. We do not sell data, we do not give your figures to tax authorities, and we do not build a profile of you from outside sources.

Who can see your figures

You, and any staff you have given permission to. Nobody else sees a shop's numbers unless you approve it for a specific purpose — a loan application, for example — and that approval can be withdrawn afterwards.

A support person can only look at a specific record when you ask us about it. We do not ask shop owners for a BVN or NIN, we do not read your contacts, photos, SMS or WhatsApp messages, and we do not track your location in the background.

Taking everything with you

  1. Export from settingsYou get your sales, expenses, credit list and stock history in a file you can open in any spreadsheet. It is not locked to MyKanti.
  2. Export before you deleteDeletion is not reversible, so take the export first even if you are sure. It costs nothing and takes a moment.
  3. Ask us to delete the accountMessage us and we act on it. Your records go within 30 days, and copies inside routine backups within a further 90.

A small amount of information is kept longer where the law requires it — records of payments, for instance. The privacy policy sets out exactly what and why.

The full detail

This guide is a summary. The privacy policy is the binding version and is written to be read by the person who owns the shop, not by a lawyer.
